Patrick Stewart Bakes A Cake

Written for the Vandelé String Quartet. This piece is locked into a restless rhythm that drives it’s tuneful character like a battering ram all the way to the end.

I’m very grateful to have been the recipient of a Creative BC grant to fund the production of a music video based on this work.



People often asked me about the title, and more specifically whether Sir Stewart knows about it. He doesn’t. The title came to me on a whim and is perhaps best encapsulation of all the serendipity that seems to follow this piece around wherever it goes.
